About

Hi, I’m Marc.

I bring a humanities perspective to business, with a genuine curiosity about what technology can make possible for people.

I live in Wuppertal and work in marketing leadership. Here I write and speak about technology, leadership and how we stay human through change.

My background

Humanities & Business.

I started with English language and literature. Studying language, stories and culture taught me to look closely, understand context and make room for more than one interpretation. That way of thinking has stayed with me.

An MBA at WHU followed, adding a grounding in strategy, organisations and business decisions. I like to bring those perspectives together: what makes business sense, and what does it mean for people? For me, AI and transformation make that connection especially important.

Leadership & technology

What I work on today.

I bring more than ten years of marketing leadership experience in financial services. My work brings together strategy, customer communication and digital change. To me, leadership means listening, making decisions and trusting people to find their own solutions.

I want to understand new technologies by working with them myself, including running local AI systems. I’m particularly interested in how small and mid-sized businesses can put AI to practical use—and what that asks of leadership, human judgement and collaboration.

Usually somewhere outdoors.

I love nature and wide-open landscapes, especially in Scandinavia, England and Scotland. I enjoy exploring on foot or heading out on overlanding trips in my Jeep.

I also make music. With Birlinn (opens in a new tab) I play Irish and Scottish folk.
